Billionaires Battle for Mars

<As their personal, private battle heats up>

It’s for real. Luckily, no injuries when September started with a BANG!1BVG CAPE Explosion 2Enormous explosions erupted on SpaceX’s launch pad at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in the quiet morning of the first day of the month. The dangerous blasts that happened during a pre-launch check totally shattered the quiet and demolished an Elon Musk Falcon 9 rocket while destroying Mark Zuckerberg’s Amos 6 satellite that the rocket was supposed to place into orbit. Facebook had planned to use the revolutionary $200million satellite to spread home internet service throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Visiting Africa at the time, Zuckerberg planned to celebrate the satellite’s successful launch. But although no one was hurt, a lot of dreams, plans and money went up in smoke. Apparently, so did the working relationship between the two competitive high-tech titans.

Even as the catastrophic explosions were felt and reverberated for miles and smoke-filled hours around the southern Florida space center, news spread instantly across cyberspace.1BVG CAPE EXPLOSIONAnd the repercussion, after-effect of the devastating accident was widespread. While the rocket was being fueled, something went wrong with the upper-stage oxygen tank resulting in fire, explained Musk, SpaceX chief. However, the exact reason for what happened remained a massive mystery. “Cause still unknown,” Musk tweeted. “More soon,” he promised.

The tragic occurrence was a major setback to SpaceX and NASA following another launch accident last year. Still, Musk’s company has successfully docked with the International Space Station stocking it with supplies and ultimately, astronauts.

Despite that and other accomplishments, plus Musk’s confident vow to get everything back in place, and space, the billionaires are at war. Zuckerberg is understandably upset to say the least as the accident has put an angry strain on their fragile relationship.1BVG ALIEN SHIP2

What’s more, a strange, unidentified flying object seen in the sky near the pad prior to the explosion has conspiracy theorists claiming aliens sabotaged the launch. See story.

What is known for sure is that Mr. Zuckerberg is upset at the destruction of his satellite when Mr. Musk’s rocket suffered its catastrophic explosion on the Cape Canaveral launch pad during what should’ve been  a routine pre-launch check.

Timed for the special occasion, Zuckerberg’s stay in Africa was cut short, and the 14 countries on the continent and Middle East that were primed and ready to have free broadband, would have to wait. See story

‘As I’m here in Africa, I’m deeply disappointed to hear that SpaceX’s launch failure destroyed our satellite that would have provided connectivity to so many entrepreneurs and everyone else across the continent,’ Zuckerberg stated.
